Teli ka Mandir – Gwalior

Believed to have been built during the reign of Pratihara king Mihibhoj in around 8th or 9th century AD this temple is dedicated to the (Hindu belief) God Vishnu. The name “Teli” is believed to be a derivative/distortion of the word “Telangana” owing to its evident Dravidian influence. Another favorite from our recent trip to Gwalior 🙂

    I have heard that Gwalior is a beautiful place. Your photos are so beautiful and love the eye for detail. The leaf prints on the paved stones were beautiful. (Y)

      Thanks 🙂 Yes, the places that we visited in Gwalior were majestic and amazing. A few hours drive from Gwalior takes you to Morena .. we visited some very mystical and picturesque temples there as well 🙂 The leaf-prints that you see..are basically natural painting..murals! Fossils of ferns locked inside while stone formation was happening! 🙂 Best wishes!
